Key Responsibilities:
- Offer leadership and mentorship to direct reports, including directing work and assisting the team with processes, procedures, and escalated matters.
- Develop metrics to assess and report on departmental performance, ensuring resources are effectively allocated and workloads are managed to meet accuracy, processing, quality benchmarks, and compliance requirements.
- Drive and implement operational enhancements, proactively identifying and addressing business challenges to boost efficiency and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Oversee policies and procedures, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and reviewed to comply with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to effectively identify and mitigate risks.
- Lead or participate as a subject matter expert in projects and initiatives driven by business needs within the team and across Operations.
People Leadership:
- Provide effective leadership through constructive coaching, feedback, and sound performance management practices.
- Act as an advocate for the team, addressing issues that may hinder individual or organizational success.
- Establish departmental initiatives and align individual performance objectives.
Flexibility:
- Willingness to occasionally work before market hours, as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience (post-secondary education and relevant work experience may be interchanged to meet the total years required).
- Extensive experience in financial services, financial operations, processing, or customer service teams.
- Strong understanding of Financial Operations processes, policies, techniques, and applicable regulations.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in people leadership and mentoring.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years).
- Knowledge of Annuity Estate Settlement or Death Claim processing.
