Position Overview: A Plus Tree, Inc. is seeking an experienced Urban Forestry Sales Leader to oversee daily sales operations within the Greater Portland Metro Area. As a key player in our sales team, you will focus primarily on residential sales, guiding specific strategic regions to lay the groundwork for sustainable, profitable growth throughout various sales cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture trusted relationships with both new and existing clients, as well as with the community and company stakeholders.
  • Achieve results while comfortably meeting sales deadlines and objectives.
  • Participate in community-focused tree care events and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility, including trade shows and educational sessions.
  • Engage with clients through follow-ups via phone, email, and in-person regarding proposals, ongoing projects, and account management.
  • Input new client information, properties, and develop proposals and job plans using our proprietary sales system.
  • Collaborate with the Oregon Urban Forestry sales team to prepare proposals and send estimates.
  • Gather necessary permit information and prepare arborist reports as required.
  • Secure permits for approved proposals.
  • Identify local tree species and recommend appropriate treatments.
  • Provide education and consultation to clients regarding tree care and removals.
  • Consult clients on plant health care and general tree maintenance.
  • Conduct inventory, identification, assessment, and cataloging of trees.
  • Perform administrative tasks utilizing Salesforce CRM and A Plus Tree's proprietary software.
  • Prior experience with Salesforce is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GIS or similar inventory software is advantageous.
  • Handle incoming inquiries from clients and potential clients.
  • Participate in weekly one-on-one meetings with your supervisor.
  • Engage in weekly and monthly sales meetings and calls.
  • Coordinate with certified arborists for job assessments, arborist reports, and necessary permits.
  • Work closely with operations and client success teams to ensure successful execution of tree care projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Education and/or experience in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship-building with a focus on exceptional client service, along with the ability to establish, maintain, and expand a sales territory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant sales experience is preferred.
  • ISA Certified Arborist credential or the ability to obtain it within six months is required.
  • Willingness to learn new aspects of Arboriculture.
  • Operational experience in tree care is essential.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose and price various tree care treatments.
  • Competence in preparing and presenting proposals, whether individually or to small groups.
  • Experience managing large or complex accounts, such as municipal or condominium associations, with multiple decision-makers is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong listening abilities and the capacity to take detailed notes during client interactions.
  • Proficient and proven skills in sales and negotiation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record, meeting all company driving requirements.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
