Job Summary:

As a Director of Sales, you will be responsible for implementing the total sales and marketing efforts of the company, including securing new business accounts, maintaining existing accounts, supervising sales activities, and training within the sales team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to produce new business opportunities, including room sales, food and beverage sales, and catering services.
  • Direct the scheduling of events and activities at the company and coordinate with other departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with officials and representatives of local business groups and companies, and attend industry events to generate new business opportunities.
  • Execute company-wide sales and marketing plans to support overall business strategies and programs.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and provide career development for all sales personnel, conduct performance evaluations, and provide feedback to employees.
  • Manage the departmental budget and monitor sales activities/performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.
Requirements:
  • 3 or more years of sales management and team leadership experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel on sales trips out of town for multiple nights as business opportunities dictate.
  • Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Aggressive negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business with a high conversion ratio.
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of overall business operations as they affect the sales department.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
