Your Contributions in this Role:


As a Lead Control Systems Engineer, you will leverage your inquisitiveness and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse professionals globally.


In this position, you will:


Lead the enhancement of control systems and technology, ensuring equipment reliability and overseeing projects from design through installation and commissioning.


  • Manage Allen Bradley PLC systems and process networks.
-Act as the site control authority on Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).-Provide ongoing support to site operations to maintain efficient equipment performance.-Offer insights during the procurement of controls to facilitate manufacturing processes.

  • Collaborate with process and controls engineers to identify challenges and evaluate the need for manufacturing solutions.
  • Assist in the training and development of Instrumentation & Electrical support staff.
-Support site operations around the clock

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To ensure your success in this role from the outset, 3M requires the following qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in control engineering within a private, public, governmental, or military context.

Additional qualifications that may enhance your success include:

A Master’s degree in Engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.

A total of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing equipment installation and troubleshooting, along with experience in power distribution systems including design, maintenance, and renewal.

A proven history of success in process improvement initiatives.

Demonstrated leadership abilities in project management, along with strong written and verbal communication skills.

A solid understanding of Rockwell Automation and/or DeltaV control systems.

Work Environment:
Location: Cordova, IL

Travel Requirements:
May involve up to 10% domestic/international travel.

Relocation Support:
May be provided.

Must possess legal authorization to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Compensation Overview:

The expected salary range for this position is $119,076 - $145,537, which includes base pay and potential variable incentive pay, if applicable. This range represents a good faith estimate for this role. Specific compensation may vary based on factors such as relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and experience.
