Compensation Structure

The pay range for this position is as follows:

  • $49.65 per hour for the 531.2 level
  • $59.49 per hour for the 531.3 level

Please note that this pay range serves as a general guideline and is influenced by various factors, including educational background, experience, and market conditions.

Position Summary

We are seeking multiple qualified individuals for the role of Electronics Technologist/Senior Electronics Technologist. In this capacity, you will be instrumental in supporting both new and ongoing experiments at the High Explosives Applications Facility (HEAF). This role falls within the Defense Technologies Engineering Division (DTED) and is part of the Weapon Technologies and Engineering (WTE) Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive electronic technical assistance to engineering and scientific teams, ensuring the operational readiness of WTE facilities.
  • Design, fabricate, and assemble moderately complex electronic systems while adhering to established procedures.
  • Utilize electronic diagnostic tools, maintain area controls, and conduct calibration and alignment tasks.
  • Document and maintain systems and experimental records meticulously.
  • Perform maintenance and testing on facility-related equipment and systems.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization in support and experimental areas.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Advanced Responsibilities for 531.3 Level

  • Deliver advanced technical support for complex weapon systems and develop operational procedures.
  • Design and assemble intricate electronic components, including planning and equipment selection.
  • Analyze and resolve complex electronic issues using independent judgment and creativity.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with electrical diagnostic equipment and related processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering documentation and specifications.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes and hand/power tools.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to work with respiratory protective equipment and maintain necessary certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with classified materials and high explosives.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Operational experience with LabVIEW and industrial control systems.

Security Clearance Requirements

This position necessitates a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance, which involves a thorough background investigation.
