**Position Overview**
The primary role of the Vehicle Maintenance Specialist is to conduct both preventative and corrective maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, forklifts, tankers, and trailers.
**Compensation**: Starting Pay: $31.00 / hour (based on experience). Shift differentials apply for applicable hours worked.
**Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday, starting at 2 PM until workload completion.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Diagnose and repair fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring completion of planned preventive maintenance, warranty repairs, and other scheduled services.
- Document all repair work in the electronic maintenance system and on company PM Cards.
- Process parts electronically using the fleet software or proprietary systems.
- Complete daily maintenance tasks as scheduled.
- Assist Route Sales Representatives with pre and post-trip inspections.
- Follow all departmental policies and procedures, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Keep the work area organized and clean.
- Adhere to company safety practices at all times.
**Qualifications**
- A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in commercial fleet repair (gas, diesel, or propane).
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Vocational or trade school certification is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting up to 60 pounds in various work conditions.
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Capability to obtain and maintain a CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement within a specified timeframe.
- Must possess mechanic hand-tools and a secure toolbox.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently without direct supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Electronic Diagnostic Tools, and Electronic Maintenance Database applications.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
