Security Operations Support Intern

As a Security Operations Support Intern, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Security Administration team at General Dynamics. This internship is designed specifically for military personnel transitioning to civilian roles, providing a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in security operations within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and issuance of identification badges for new hires, temporary staff, subcontractors, and visitors, ensuring compliance with access control protocols.
- Verify security documentation and process badges for onboarding personnel.
- Manage visit requests and maintain accurate boarding lists for access to naval repair vessels.
- Facilitate the processing of credential applications for various military installations.
- Coordinate the issuance of visitor badges in accordance with export regulations.
- Engage with visitors and employees, providing assistance and information as needed.
- Support reception duties at the main lobby, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Maintain a comprehensive database for parking permits and vehicle requests.
- Administer temporary badge programming and manage the clearance of terminated employees.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at the Security Office.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Security Administration Supervisor.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business management or related fields is advantageous.
- Prior experience in administrative or security roles is preferred.
- Basic understanding of security access procedures is essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Able to handle challenging situations and resolve inquiries with minimal supervision.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving safety and operational efficiency.
Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, and communicate effectively. Must be capable of navigating various areas within the facility. Occasional exposure to dust and moderate noise levels may occur.
