Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Prepare quarterly financial forecasts and monthly updates to ensure the contract is managed effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of technical employees, maintaining a strong, trained, and disciplined workforce.
  • Operations Management: Manage the overall operations of the contract, including daily operations, scheduled maintenance, and administration of subcontracts for facilities work.
  • Cost Control: Evaluate and ensure the efficient operation of the project, controlling operational expenses at a minimum level consistent with sound maintenance practices and contractual requirements.
  • Staff Supervision: Provide administrative and technical direction and supervision to staff in completing work assignments.
  • Project Planning: Discuss, plan, and delegate major project assignments to supervisory staff, determining building priorities that are of significant scope.
  • Facilities Maintenance: Ensure proper upkeep of facilities, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sanitation, general appearance of buildings and grounds, and emergency situations affecting the facilities.
  • Supply Chain Management: Coordinate the purchase of necessary supplies, equipment, and services from appropriate sources and maintain proper inventory control, maintenance, and consumable supplies.
  • Communication: Maintain liaison with architects, engineers, and contractors/subcontractors engaged in plant expansion, renovation, or other major projects.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain sufficient records, files, controls, and procedures to ensure management and work production.
  • Training and Development: Develop training sessions for employees who require them.
  • Safety Program: Maintain a strong safety program.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and control all aspects of physical plant activities.
  • Customer Relations: Ability to work with the customer to find mutually satisfactory solutions to difficult issues.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work with management systems and a variety of skilled/unskilled, professional, administrative, and industry personnel.
  • Business Acumen: Basic knowledge of office administration, plant management, reporting, budgeting and control, and business operations, blueprints, buildings, grounds, equipment, housekeeping, construction, repair, maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, fire, and safety management.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction discipline.
  • Experience: 2+ years of demonstrated experience managing HVAC projects.
  • Skills: Strong experience with Windows and MS Office, demonstrated skill at developing and nurturing client relationships, excellent communication skills - verbal and written, skilled in organizing and leading groups of people, capable of working independently or as part of a team and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Physical Demands: The individual must be able to walk throughout a large facility, including climbing stairs and walking on catwalks.
