Position Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the inspection, upkeep, construction, and repair of various systems including HVAC, kitchen equipment, plumbing, and other trades to ensure optimal functionality and visual appeal. This role involves coordinating the efforts of both in-house staff and external contractors to meet organizational goals and objectives. The manager will also be tasked with proposing and managing departmental budgets while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Compensation Range: $89,738 - $119,650 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and organizational guidance to maintenance teams. Ensure all HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, and plumbing systems are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to interpret complex electrical, mechanical, and automation schematics.
  • Direct and oversee the work of staff, including training, assigning tasks, and evaluating performance. Foster a culture of development by coaching and mentoring team members to achieve personal and departmental goals.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of new construction, repair projects, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory standards. Regularly assess the condition of all facilities.
  • Establish and prioritize departmental objectives aligned with business goals and stakeholder needs. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with health and environmental regulations.
  • Utilize analytical skills to evaluate information and make informed decisions regarding departmental needs and budget constraints. Promote continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
  • Oversee shop practices, procedures, and the use of materials. Analyze blueprints and specifications to determine operational sequences and tolerances.
  • Develop and manage budgets for all departmental responsibilities. Proficient in business practices, effective communication, and the use of CMMS software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Coordinate the procurement and efficient use of resources, including labor and materials, to ensure projects are completed within budget and quality standards. Manage vendor agreements and procurement processes.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or vocational training in Facility Management, HVAC, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in facilities management is preferred.
  • EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling is required.
  • HVAC-R certification is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience is necessary.
  • A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in trades such as plumbing, HVAC-Refrigeration, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and kitchen equipment repair is essential. Comprehensive knowledge of building codes and health regulations is required.
