Position Overview: The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing, developing, and executing comprehensive maintenance strategies involving suppliers, corporate personnel, and manufacturing teams. This position is pivotal in ensuring that production machinery is maintained effectively to meet product specifications and adhere to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the establishment and execution of a preventive maintenance schedule for all machinery.
  • Oversee utilities management, including steam, water, compressed air, refrigeration, wastewater, and HVAC systems.
  • Enhance maintenance processes and systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate and mentor a diverse maintenance team across multiple shifts.
  • Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and manage allocation processes.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with technical suppliers, including managing quotations and contracts.
  • Prepare and oversee the maintenance department budget.
  • Drive departmental projects and ensure timely completion of action items.
  • Implement technical procedures in compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Manage safety protocols related to equipment operation and oversee the Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) program.
  • Develop and implement training plans to meet departmental needs.
  • Monitor and report on departmental KPIs on a regular basis.
  • Engage in daily operational meetings and contribute to team discussions.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in managing a maintenance department within the food industry.
  • Proficient in handling large commercial equipment and systems.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) focusing on trend analysis and root cause identification.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and automation projects.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and HVAC is advantageous.
