Overview

Dartmouth Health is in search of a Lead Pharmacy Technician Supervisor to oversee the pharmacy technician team. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and effective functioning of the pharmacy department.

This is a full-time, benefited position with a schedule from Monday to Friday, 1 PM to 9:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and direct the daily activities of pharmacy technician personnel.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy manager to ensure accountability for medication preparation and dispensing operations.
  • Assess productivity levels, quality of work, and task completion.
  • Guarantee that pharmacy workspaces are well-maintained, medication distribution systems are efficient, and compliance with all legal and regulatory standards is upheld.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate pharmacy staff.
  • Develop staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Address operational challenges and staff conflicts effectively.
  • Engage with technicians to gather insights and suggestions for enhancing work processes.
  • Support the professional growth of pharmacy technicians and promote their advancement.
  • Identify opportunities for cost control and waste reduction, making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Participate in departmental compliance and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Handle customer inquiries and collaborate with staff to deliver exceptional service.
  • Perform pharmacy technician duties as necessary.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of combined supervisory and technician experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
  • An associate's degree or higher in a management or health-related discipline is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy technician responsibilities with a proven track record of precision, accountability, efficiency, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work autonomously while effectively prioritizing tasks and making critical decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and change management skills are desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Licensure/Certifications Required
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT and NH Board of Pharmacy) is mandatory.
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire if required to administer immunizations.
