Job Title: Procurement Specialist II

Job Overview: The Procurement Specialist II plays a crucial role in sourcing equipment, goods, and services while managing vendor relationships. This position involves executing strategic procurement activities across various spending categories, seeking advantageous deals, and identifying more profitable suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Process Management:

  • Handle daily procurement requests, ensuring orders are processed efficiently through multiple communication channels.
  • Address supply chain disruptions, including stock shortages and vendor errors, while prioritizing restocking efforts.
  • Coordinate tool orders in collaboration with the warehouse to secure necessary equipment for specific tasks.
  • Manage rental requests from operational teams and process them through the appropriate vendors.

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Generate job-specific quotes, leveraging vendor relationships to secure optimal pricing and service.
  • Analyze daily expenditures to identify the best value options.
  • Explore vendor-added services such as warehousing and vendor-managed inventory (VMI).
  • Facilitate electronic data transfer with vendors to streamline order communication.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to address specific office and job-related needs.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, prefab, and safety teams to fulfill various requests.
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure timely processing of work orders for vendor payments.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster strong working relationships with project managers, field supervisors, apprentices, and material handlers to enhance communication.

Purchase Order Processing:

  • Accurately code and implement data processes, ensuring proper cost distribution for projects.
  • Verify and import data into the accounting system for seamless data transfer.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a procurement agent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in electrical materials distribution.
  • Familiarity with procurement software is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Bluebeam.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Capacity to multitask in a dynamic work environment.

Working Conditions:

This position is primarily office-based, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday during standard business hours. However, extended hours may be required as deadlines approach, including occasional weekend work. Some travel may be necessary for training and professional development.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, and stooping. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
