This position is focused on providing essential care and companionship to animals within our specialized program, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their stay.
The specialist will be responsible for coordinating various pet services, including veterinary care and the procurement of pet supplies. Working closely with clients, the specialist will help nurture the human-animal bond during challenging times, contributing significantly to the stability and security of families and their pets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and respond appropriately to the effects of domestic violence, human trafficking, and trauma during crisis situations.
- Collaborate effectively with community partners, veterinary hospitals, and rescue organizations.
- Conduct assessments for new animal intakes, identifying medical needs and scheduling veterinary visits.
- Develop behavioral assessments for all newly admitted animals.
- Maintain a positive and productive relationship with pet owners.
- Ensure the enrichment and basic care needs of the animals are met.
- Assist with animal care tasks, including cleaning kennels, maintaining outdoor spaces, training, and grooming.
- Establish and nurture long-term partnerships with other rescues and veterinary clinics.
- Manage the collection of monthly donations and maintain relationships with donors.
- Order necessary supplies and manage exit box materials.
- Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner across various databases.
- Participate in weekly meetings, including case reviews and program discussions.
- Collaborate with partner rescues in cases of animal surrenders, utilizing their temporary care programs and resources.
- Transport animals as needed using a company vehicle.

- Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation
- Current Auto Liability Insurance
- 39-Month Motor Vehicle Record
- Must be at least 21 years of age
Additional Information:
