Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Scheduling: Verify patient information, collect demographic and insurance data, and schedule appointments in accordance with established guidelines.
- Insurance Verification and Eligibility: Confirm patient insurance coverage, identify potential issues, and communicate with patients and families to resolve any discrepancies.
- Financial Counseling and Patient Responsibility: Estimate patient liability, collect co-payments and co-insurance, and provide financial counseling to patients and families.
- Customer Service and Communication: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with healthcare providers, nurses, and other team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in customer service, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, squat, and bend frequently, as well as twist, rotate, and kneel occasionally. The ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds with assistance is also required.
