Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Community Engagement Business Partner is crucial in shaping and implementing Vail Resorts' outreach initiatives across the Western and Eastern regions, aligning with our revamped Public Affairs framework. Reporting to the VP of Community and External Affairs, this role emphasizes community-level external relations. The manager will collaborate closely with ski area leadership to facilitate outreach efforts aimed at building relationships with key government and community stakeholders, ensuring alignment with our business and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • External Representation: Cultivate and manage the company's relationships, focusing initially on local communities to support our Community & External Affairs strategy.
  • Network Development: Establish a robust network of contacts among governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.
  • Strategic Insight: Stay informed on significant stakeholder and policy developments, providing strategic recommendations on issues affecting the company.
  • Public Affairs Leadership: Drive public affairs strategies to meet business objectives within resort communities, including advocacy and management of special projects.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Public Affairs Department, including Public Relations, Environmental & Social Responsibility, and Government Affairs teams.
  • Support ski area leadership in their external engagement and business priorities.
  • Oversee the Community Analyst role to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Act as a liaison between Public Affairs and Vail Resorts business units, facilitating communication on opportunities and emerging issues.
  • Manage the operating budget for the Community & External Affairs team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in government affairs, regulatory entities, or NGOs, or from a business background in Marketing, Communications, or Strategy.
  • Proven track record in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivation to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and communication skills, with writing samples available upon request.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior executives and influence decision-making.
  • Passion for community service and creating a positive impact in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Creative problem solver who seeks innovative ways to enhance processes and drive efficiency.

Compensation: The expected total compensation for this role ranges from $89,100 to $105,000, plus an annual bonus, with adjustments based on experience.
