Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Community Engagement Business Partner is tasked with advancing the strategic design and implementation of Vail Resorts' outreach initiatives across the Western and Eastern regions, as part of a revamped Public Affairs framework. Reporting to the VP of Community and External Affairs, this role emphasizes community-level external relations. The manager will collaborate closely with ski area leadership to facilitate direct outreach efforts aimed at establishing strong connections with key governmental and community stakeholders, thereby aligning business and operational objectives with community priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • External Representation: Cultivate and manage relationships with local communities in line with our Community & External Affairs strategy.
  • Network Development: Establish a robust network of contacts among governmental and non-governmental stakeholders.
  • Strategic Insight: Stay informed on significant stakeholder and policy developments, providing strategic recommendations on issues affecting the company.
  • Public Affairs Leadership: Drive public affairs strategies to meet business goals within resort communities, including advocacy and management of special projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Public Affairs Department, including Public Relations, Environmental & Social Responsibility, and Government Affairs teams.
  • Support ski area leadership in their external engagement and business initiatives.
  • Oversee the Community Analyst role to enhance outreach efforts.
  • Facilitate communication between Public Affairs and Vail Resorts business units to promote collaborative decision-making.
  • Manage the operating budget for the Community & External Affairs team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in government affairs, regulatory entities, or NGOs, or a background in Marketing, Communications, Strategy, or Operations.
  • Proven track record in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills; writing samples may be requested.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior executives and influence outcomes.
  • Passion for community service and creating value in a safe and inclusive environment.
  • Creative problem-solver with a proactive approach to identifying improvements.

Compensation:

The anticipated total compensation for this role ranges from $89,100 to $105,000, plus an annual bonus. Compensation will be adjusted based on experience.
