Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Intake Registered Nurse to join our team at West Oaks Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating assessments of incoming patients, working closely with Intake Counselors, and initiating the admission process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Call Management and Initial Assessment: Respond to incoming calls, assess patient needs, and coordinate with Intake Counselors to determine the best course of action.
  • Evaluation and Admission Process: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, coordinate with doctors, and initiate the admission process.
  • Operations and Staff Management: Manage the intake process, provide technical assistance to the discharge planning process, and delegate tasks to other team members as needed.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN, Diploma, or BSN degree.
  • Licensure and Certification: Current Texas State Registered Nurse licensure, CPR certification, and hospital de-escalation certification.
  • Experience: Two years of inpatient psychiatric experience, with knowledge of nursing assessment, diagnosis, and intervention with psychiatric patients.
