Job Title: Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team at Kavaliro. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing Accounts Payable and General Ledger entries, maintaining the vendor database, and reconciling Cash and General Ledger accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process Accounts Payable invoices by prioritizing, reviewing for accuracy, obtaining approval, coding to correct vendor and General Ledger account, and scanning and filing invoices and documents.
  • Maintain the vendor database by determining vendor class, entering new vendors, preparing 1099-MISC Forms, and tracking W9's.
  • Process credit card and expense report allocations and reconcile daily activity in software system.
  • Reconcile various expense accounts to verify properly processed and communicate information to appropriate staff and AgVantis.
  • Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation, post journal entries, and assist with month-end close by reviewing activity and balances in various accounts.
  • Post Rate Sheets to Employee Portal and email to Association staff, compile and provide information/data for internal and external reports, and complete a review of information compiled by others.
  • Complete or assist with accounting-focused projects, suggest updates to internal accounting procedures, train other employees, and provide requested information to auditors/leadership.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, 2+ years of AP experience, and 2+ years of General Ledger experience.
  • Lawson experience a major plus.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and methods, and working knowledge of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook sufficient to create, update, and save a variety of documents.
  • Skill in focusing and concentrating on details, oral and written communication, and gathering, compiling, and organizing information.
