Position: Senior Specific Product Specialist (ESRI GIS)

Salary: $42-$51

Role Summary:

The Senior Specific Product Specialist will be instrumental in overseeing and optimizing GIS systems within a military context. The successful candidate will possess substantial expertise in intricate data manipulation, modeling, analytical processes, scripting (including web mapping), and enhancements to GIS system performance.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven experience relevant to military operations in complex data manipulation, modeling, analytical processes, scripting (including web mapping), and GIS system performance improvements.
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing ArcGIS Pro for data management, maintenance, and analysis.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience with ArcMap extensions, specifically Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.
  • At least 1 year of data management experience with ArcSDE.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in administering an ArcSDE database.
  • At least 1 year of experience with SDSFIE data standards (version 2 or above) for data management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in scripting and Model Building in ArcMap and/or ArcServer to automate or customize ArcGIS Pro processes.
  • Experience in migrating data from various geospatial data sources such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, LiDAR, or other remote sensing data.
  • Familiarity with acquiring and integrating data using Global Positioning Technology (preferably Trimble) or similar mobile technologies.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geology, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field, along with a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is required.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain GIS data, ensuring precision and consistency in a complex military environment.
  • Execute data manipulation, modeling, and analysis utilizing advanced GIS tools and methodologies.
  • Design and implement scripts for web mapping and other GIS applications to enhance system functionality and performance.
  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro for comprehensive data management, maintenance, and analytical tasks.
  • Employ ArcMap extensions such as Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst for specialized GIS functions.
  • Manage and administer ArcSDE databases, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and management.
  • Implement SDSFIE data standards for effective data management practices.
  • Automate and customize GIS processes using scripts and Model Building in ArcMap and/or ArcServer.
  • Facilitate data migration from various geospatial data sources including AutoCAD, MicroStation, LiDAR, and other remote sensing data.
  • Acquire and integrate data using Global Positioning Technology (preferably Trimble) or related mobile technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for GIS-related projects and initiatives.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Certifications:

  • Relevant GIS certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
