Role Summary:

The Senior Specific Product Specialist will be instrumental in overseeing and optimizing GIS systems tailored for an Army context. The successful candidate will possess substantial expertise in intricate data editing, modeling, analysis, scripting (including web mapping), and enhancing GIS system performance.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience relevant to the Army setting in complex data editing, modeling, analysis, scripting (including web mapping), and performance improvements of GIS systems.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro for effective data management and analysis.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience utilizing ArcMap extensions, especially Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.
  • At least 1 year of data management experience with ArcSDE.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in administering an ArcSDE database.
  • At least 1 year of experience with SDSFIE data standards (version 2 or higher) for data management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience employing scripts and Model Building in ArcMap and/or ArcServer to streamline or customize ArcGIS Pro workflows.
  • Familiarity with data migration from various geospatial data sources such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, LiDAR, or other remote sensing datasets.
  • Experience in acquiring and integrating data through Global Positioning Technology (preferably Trimble) or similar mobile technologies.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geology, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field, along with a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain GIS data, ensuring precision and uniformity in a complex Army setting.
  • Execute data editing, modeling, and analysis utilizing advanced GIS methodologies and tools.
  • Create and implement scripts for web mapping and other GIS applications to improve system functionality and performance.
  • Utilize ArcGIS Pro for thorough data management, maintenance, and analytical tasks.
  • Apply ArcMap extensions such as Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst for specialized GIS functions.
  • Manage and administer ArcSDE databases, ensuring effective data storage and retrieval.
  • Implement SDSFIE data standards for efficient data management practices.
  • Automate and customize GIS workflows using scripts and Model Building in ArcMap and/or ArcServer.
  • Conduct data migration from diverse geospatial data sources including AutoCAD, MicroStation, LiDAR, and other remote sensing data.
