We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Registration Representative to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a Patient Registration Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients, while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately and efficiently complete patient registration for new and existing patients.
- Check patients in upon their arrival for scheduled appointments and facilitate up-front collection of co-payments.
- Perform tasks related to cash drawer management, including co-pay collections.
- Request, locate, send, and receive patient medical records as needed.
- Understand and utilize computer applications common to the desk areas.
- Receive and handle incoming telephone calls, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Handle and maintain the sale of products pertinent to the site or area.
- Check patients out in a prompt and friendly manner, ensuring a positive experience.
- Demonstrate customer service excellence in accordance with Carle Foundation Hospital's policies and procedures.
- Act as a patient advocate at all times, providing support and guidance to patients and their families.
- Attend meetings to enhance knowledge and stay up-to-date on policies and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, including participating in project planning and suggesting ways to improve processes.
- Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Two years of relevant business, healthcare, or finance work experience.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with all employees and the public.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Self-motivated and dependable, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks under stressful conditions with interruptions.
- Knowledge and skills to work effectively with patients and their families.
