Director of Student Ministries

The Youth Cartel is a dynamic organization dedicated to fostering spiritual growth among young individuals. We are seeking a Director of Student Ministries who will play a pivotal role in our mission. This position requires a collaborative spirit and the ability to navigate a complex organizational structure.

The ideal candidate will exemplify a faith-driven lifestyle, providing spiritual guidance to middle and high school students, their families, and the broader community. You will work alongside other ministry leaders to establish vision, implement programs, and motivate others to deepen their faith journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate effectively with the local team to shape the future of our ministry.
  2. Plan and execute community-focused events and services.
  3. Lead and mentor Student Ministry staff, setting clear objectives and fostering professional growth.
  4. Develop strategies to engage middle and high school students, integrating them into the larger community.
  5. Facilitate training sessions and transitional events for students.
  6. Partner with parents to empower them as the primary spiritual influence in their children's lives.
  7. Recruit and guide adult volunteers and student leaders in leading small groups.
  8. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by maintaining proper protocols.
  9. Oversee the development of student leaders and facilitate group activities.
  10. Establish positive relationships with local educational institutions.
  11. Work collaboratively with central staff on curriculum development and event planning.
  12. Manage multiple initiatives while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  13. Promote a culture of humility, hope, and resilience within the team.
  14. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Some college coursework preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in youth ministry leadership.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in developing both staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Background in a multi-site ministry environment.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong theological understanding and knowledge of youth ministry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High energy and enthusiastic leadership style.
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in various software applications.
  • Effective public speaking skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Capable of performing physical activities such as walking, bending, and lifting.

Work Environment:

  • This role typically operates in a professional setting with standard office equipment.
  • Work hours are generally during business days with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
