Role Summary

Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish is seeking a passionate individual to lead our youth ministry efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a vibrant faith and a dynamic personality, capable of engaging with a diverse youth population, primarily Latino/a. This role involves collaborating with volunteers to design, implement, and assess a bilingual faith formation program aimed at preparing high school students for the sacrament of Confirmation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and oversee a dedicated team to manage various youth ministry initiatives, including youth groups, retreats, and social events.
  • Work in partnership with the Director of Faith Formation to ensure alignment between catechetical programs and the overall mission of the parish.
  • Encourage youth participation in parish life through various activities, including serving on committees and participating in liturgical events.
  • Organize and facilitate training for volunteers to support youth programs effectively.
  • Collaborate with local organizations to promote youth community engagement and advocacy.
  • Plan and coordinate youth masses and confirmation liturgies in conjunction with the parish's liturgical team.
  • Maintain accurate records related to youth ministry activities, including registrations and attendance.
  • Ensure all volunteers complete necessary training and background checks to maintain a safe environment for youth.
  • Manage the financial aspects of youth ministries, including budgeting and fundraising efforts.
  • Participate in parish staff meetings and provide regular updates on youth ministry initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with the parish community regarding youth ministry events and programs.
  • Stay informed about diocesan resources and support services relevant to youth ministry.
  • Adapt to the evolving needs of the parish and respond to pastoral requirements as they arise.
Qualifications
  • Active participation in the sacramental life of the Church and a strong commitment to Catholic teachings.
  • Familiarity with Church documents related to catechesis and evangelization.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to connect with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • A degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in youth ministry.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative, motivated, and capable of building relationships within the parish and the wider community.
  • Proficiency in technology and social media for effective communication and outreach.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to work in an office environment, attend meetings, and participate in various parish activities. The candidate must be able to lift and move items up to 15 pounds as needed.
