DILLER PROGRAM CONTEXT
The Diller Teen Fellows program offers an immersive educational experience for high school juniors, designed to foster Jewish engagement and leadership among youth. This esteemed initiative, which originated in San Francisco, has expanded to numerous communities worldwide, promoting a deep connection to Jewish identity and community service.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator is tasked with serving as the primary facilitator, educator, and mentor for a cohort of teens, guiding them through a year of exploration and personal growth. This role involves conducting workshops, leading retreats, and engaging in one-on-one mentoring to support each teen's journey in understanding their Jewish identity and leadership potential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitation and Mentorship: Lead educational sessions and provide mentorship to participants, helping them navigate their personal and communal Jewish experiences.
- Event Planning: Organize and oversee logistics for workshops and retreats, ensuring a safe and enriching environment for all participants.
- Program Management: Foster relationships with families, manage recruitment processes, and collaborate with community partners to enhance program impact.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in youth programming and education, particularly in Jewish contexts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and inspire teens.
- Knowledge of Jewish culture and community dynamics, along with administrative capabilities.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
- A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in youth leadership and community engagement is essential.
