Role Overview:

The Senior Project Manager for Technology is tasked with ensuring visibility, prioritization, and successful delivery of the Integrated Data Foundation's (IDF) initiatives. This position encompasses all facets of project management and requires collaboration with various teams to scale, plan, deliver, and enhance processes and practices. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator and a collaborative team player, poised to influence the future of technology at Southwest Airlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Technology Managers and Directors to spearhead significant technology projects and programs aligned with departmental or enterprise strategic objectives.
  • Act as a project leadership resource, responsible for driving analysis, recommendations, decisions, and successful delivery.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and roadmaps for multiple concurrent projects or a single complex program, detailing scope, budget, and schedule, while executing tasks to meet project goals using established project management methodologies.
  • Partner with development and application teams to decompose work into manageable components and identify critical paths.
  • Facilitate testing and acceptance of project outcomes across diverse teams.
  • Mentor and guide other project managers.
  • Proactively monitor risks, issues, and scope, ensuring appropriate prioritization, visibility, and escalation.
  • Communicate project plans and relevant components, including risks, schedules, expectations, and ongoing updates to stakeholders, sponsors, and project teams to maintain alignment.
  • Build collaborative partnerships to gather customer and business requirements, ensuring effective communication with all project teams and support groups.
  • Coordinate with partner teams across portfolios to define scope, track execution, and visualize the complete scope of work, including business capabilities and architectural needs.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of project processes, problem management tools, and procedures.
  • Advanced understanding of Agile development practices and ceremonies.
  • Proficient in interpreting corporate financial analysis and financial statements.
  • Strong customer service orientation and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining composure under pressure.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required: Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in project management.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and proficiency in Jira/Jira Align.

Additional Information:

  • Must maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive salary ranging from $124,550 to $138,400 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available for eligible leadership and individual contributor roles.
