Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager in Technology is tasked with ensuring visibility, prioritization, and successful delivery of the Integrated Data Foundation's (IDF) initiatives. This role encompasses all facets of project management and involves collaboration with various Teams to scale, plan, deliver, and refine processes, practices, and implementations. The Senior Project Manager is an effective communicator and Team player, poised to shape the future of Southwest's Technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Technology Managers and Directors to spearhead significant Technology projects/programs aligned with departmental or enterprise strategic objectives.
  • Act as a project leadership resource responsible for guiding analysis, recommendations, decisions, and successful delivery.
  • Develop intricate project plans/roadmaps for multiple concurrent projects or a single highly complex project, including scope, budget, and timeline, while executing tasks defined in the project plan to meet project objectives using established project management methodologies.
  • Partner with development and application teams to decompose work into manageable components or features and identify critical paths.
  • Facilitate testing and acceptance of project or program outcomes across multiple teams.
  • Mentor and coach fellow Project Managers.
  • Proactively monitor risks, issues, and scope, ensuring appropriate priority, visibility, and escalation.
  • Communicate plans and all relevant components such as risks, schedules, expectations, and ongoing updates to Stakeholders, Sponsors, and Project Teams to maintain project alignment.
  • Build partnerships to collaborate and influence the gathering of Customer and business requirements, effectively communicating with all project Teams and support groups.
  • Collaborate with partner teams across portfolios to plan (define scope of dependencies), track execution of work, and visualize the full scope of work, including business capabilities and architectural runway.
  • Perform other job duties as directed by Leadership.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert understanding of project processes, problem management tools, and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile development practices and ceremonies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of application impacts on operational and business functions.
  • Proficient financial acumen to interpret corporate financial analyses and statements.
  • Strong Customer Service and Team orientation.
  • Ability to assume significant responsibility and provide direction in a Team-oriented environment, ensuring tasks are completed by scheduled deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, at all organizational levels.
  • Capability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, Team-based environment while maintaining composure under pressure and accurately assessing problem situations.
  • Leadership skills to direct the performance of external Contractors and maintain positive relations with internal Customers.

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required: Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in project management.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Jira/Jira Align.
  • Preferred: Understanding of PMO processes.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Technology Initiative Review (TIR) process.
  • Preferred: Ability to facilitate prioritization and progression of multiple epics simultaneously.
  • Preferred: Experience with spreadsheets or other quantitative modeling.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must maintain a professional appearance as per Company standards.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must comply with Company attendance standards.

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive salary ranging from $124,550 to $138,400 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional bonus opportunities may be available for eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles at the company's discretion.
