  • POSITION OVERVIEW
    • Accountable for delivering exceptional customer support and precision regarding plan benefits and associated workflows. Assesses inquiries from members and healthcare providers, processing requests as necessary. Serves as the main point of contact for inquiries related to plan benefits across all business lines for both internal and external stakeholders. Responsible for effective oral and written communication with members and providers in response to their inquiries and requests.
  • DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
    • Samaritan Health Plans (SHP) manages a diverse range of health plan offerings under various legal frameworks: InterCommunity Health Plans, Inc. (IHN) functions as a regional Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) for Medicaid recipients; Samaritan Health Plans, Inc. provides Medicare Advantage, Commercial Large Group, and Commercial Large Group PPO and EPO plans; SHP also acts as the third-party administrator for Samaritan Health Services' self-funded employee health benefit program. As part of an Integrated Delivery System, Samaritan Health Plans is strategically and operationally aligned with the mission of Samaritan Health Services to foster healthier communities collectively.
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
    • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in customer service is required.
    • Experience within a health plan environment is preferred.
    • Familiarity with State and Federal regulations (including Medicare and Medicaid) is advantageous.
  • SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for conducting group presentations, engaging in constructive discussions, and comprehending concepts, rules, and procedures. Ability to collaborate with all organizational levels, facilitate communication, and accurately document related activities.
    • Capability to identify intricate problems, analyze relevant information, utilize creativity and alternative thinking to devise and assess options, and implement effective solutions.
