Position Summary

Provide comprehensive administrative assistance and office functions, including but not limited to customer service, reception duties, document processing, accounts management, purchasing, data entry, and mail distribution. Responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and may encompass additional related tasks.


Part-time, non-represented, casual position
20 hours per week, year-round, flexible schedule

Essential Functions

Administrative Support Specialist
Execute the responsibilities of the Clerical Assistant I role. Conduct basic financial operations such as procurement of supplies, processing registrations, managing payments, and maintaining financial records. Digitally archive documents in compliance with relevant retention policies. Perform data entry tasks, including timesheet management, within existing systems. Organize calendars and coordinate meetings. Undertake other administrative tasks as assigned.

Uphold ethical standards and integrity in all work-related activities. Foster trust within the community through professional conduct.

Comply with safety regulations and ensure a secure working environment.

Deliver exceptional customer service to a diverse range of individuals.

Maintain positive working relationships.

Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Demonstrate punctuality and consistent attendance at work and related functions.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

One year of relevant experience or education in office/business practices or a related field; or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the essential functions of the position.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Familiarity with basic office procedures and techniques.

Proficient in business English, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and basic mathematics.

Knowledge of cash handling and cashiering practices may be necessary for certain roles.

Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.

Ability to learn specific software and hardware relevant to departmental functions. Proficient typing skills are required.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and the public while maintaining effective relationships.

Requires comprehension of standardized guidelines and the ability to make routine decisions based on immediate circumstances and available options.


Ability to prioritize tasks within set deadlines and perform routine duties independently.

Special Requirements

CPR/AED certification and Standard First Aid training are required within six months of hire if assigned to specific roles.


Availability for late evening, early morning, weekend, and/or holiday shifts may be necessary based on assignment.
