Intake and Assessment Specialist (Bilingual Preferred)
Salary Range: $53,481 - $64,177 (USD) Annually
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities? The Golden Gate Regional Center is seeking an Intake Specialist to join our dedicated team.
Work Environment:
This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing you to engage with clients in a professional setting while also providing the flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement:
- Gather comprehensive intake information from applicants seeking GGRC services and refer eligible clients to the Assessment Team.
- Document intake details and observations in the system.
- Verify the client's initial status within the Regional Center framework.
- Provide general guidance and referrals regarding available resources and services to clients and callers.
- Clarify GGRC procedures and policies, including relevant legislation and due process rights.
- Direct clients to other community resources as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with required timelines and organizational policies.
- Data Management:
- Maintain a comprehensive database of inquiries and documentation related to applicants.
- Complete and uphold all necessary forms, documentation, and reports in accordance with regulations.
- Assess residency in line with established guidelines.
- Evaluate and determine the suitability of service applications.
- Administrative Support:
- Manage information and referral services effectively.
- Compile monthly statistics.
- Assist in identifying referrals for outreach initiatives.
- Provide administrative assistance to the unit as required.
- Participate in special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
All client information must be handled with confidentiality in compliance with the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and the California Lanterman Act.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services field, preferably in social work.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in client interaction and evaluation.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Desirable experience in Early Childhood Development.
- Preferred background in Case Management.
- Experience in multicultural environments and/or multilingual capabilities.
Skills and Competencies:
- Effective communication skills, particularly with Spanish or Cantonese speakers.
- Strong interviewing skills with the ability to assess individual needs while documenting detailed notes.
- Proficient in producing business documents and conveying complex information clearly and professionally.
- Familiarity with issues related to developmental disabilities.
- Proficient in MS Office and Adobe software.
- Adept at operating standard office equipment.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated initiative and decision-making skills.
- Detail-oriented with a customer-focused approach.
