POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor II is tasked with overseeing all building-related operations to maintain the integrity of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are secure and well-kept. This individual will be organized and adept at optimizing space and equipment usage while minimizing operational expenses. This role reports to the Production Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Plan and coordinate all installations (wastewater systems, boilers, air compressors, electrical systems, etc.) and refurbishments.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment and supplies to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Inspect building structures to assess the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Analyze utility consumption and implement strategies to reduce costs.
  • Supervise all facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers, etc.) and external contractors.
  • Manage activities such as parking space allocation, waste disposal, and building security.
  • Allocate office space based on requirements.
  • Administer service contracts.
  • Maintain financial and non-financial records.
  • Conduct analysis and forecasting.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance facilities supervisors.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of 7-8 employees.
  • Support staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; ensuring a safe and compliant work environment; and fostering personal growth opportunities.
  • Communicate job expectations; plan, monitor, and evaluate job performance; coach and counsel employees; and develop, coordinate, and enforce systems, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Establish strategic goals; identify and assess trends; determine a course of action; define objectives; and evaluate outcomes.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Exhibit strong time management capabilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience as a facility supervisor or manager or relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Possess or be able to obtain an L2 Certification.
  • Knowledgeable in technical/engineering operations and best practices in facilities management.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong time management skills.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and train others.
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position necessitates sufficient physical ability to operate in a production environment.

FREQUENT: Ability to communicate verbally and audibly; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; utilize hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic devices in the area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and temperature fluctuations.

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, and reaching above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform confined entry using LOTO procedures. Exposure to toxic and corrosive substances.

VISION: Ability to utilize close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually identify obstacles and potential hazards in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment.

HEARING: Ability to hear within the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, and exhaust systems.
