DESCRIPTION: New Virginia Majority (NVM) stands as Virginia's foremost civic engagement organization, dedicated to mobilizing and organizing individuals from diverse backgrounds throughout the state. Our continuous approach to community organizing emphasizes large-scale voter outreach, intertwined with ongoing advocacy efforts and community engagement initiatives. NVM is in the process of expanding its workforce and is on the lookout for passionate and skilled individuals committed to driving social change.

NVM is currently recruiting canvassers for its political voter outreach initiative. This role offers the chance to collaborate with a state-wide team focused on raising awareness about candidates endorsed by NVM and equipping voters with the latest voting information. Available positions span various regions within Virginia. Responsibilities may encompass:

  • Engaging directly with voters via phone calls, text messaging, and in-person interactions.
  • Ensuring the submission of accurate and comprehensive data.
  • Supporting the Regional Field Director in achieving designated program objectives.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Capacity to meet deadlines and thrive under pressure.
  • Openness to learning new technological tools and resolving technical challenges.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across diverse perspectives.
  • Self-driven, organized, and capable of working independently.
  • Willingness to work extended and irregular hours.
  • Alignment with the ideology and goals of NVM.

COMPENSATION: This is a seasonal role with options for both part-time and full-time employment. Canvassers will receive compensation at a rate of $20 per hour.
