Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to spearhead the launch of new products by managing and executing manufacturing readiness initiatives in collaboration with both contract manufacturers and our internal production teams. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that product designs are optimized for mass production through Design for Excellence (Dfx) principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee manufacturing readiness for new products and processes.
  • Work closely with product design teams to guarantee manufacturability and provide insights on design for manufacturability (DFM) standards.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements aimed at improving product quality, reducing costs, and boosting operational efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough research and feasibility assessments regarding manufacturing techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flowcharts, and standard operating procedures.
  • Offer technical assistance to both internal and external production teams.
  • Perform root cause analysis and execute corrective actions for manufacturing defects and field non-conformities.
  • Lead initiatives focused on continuous improvement to enhance productivity.
  • Design fixtures and tooling as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in robotics, automation, or a comparable field related to production and/or design.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience in new product introduction, continuous improvement, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Proficient in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Extensive knowledge of lifecycle management, preferably with Omnify PLM or similar systems.
  • Experience collaborating with contract manufacturers and commodity suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience in qualifying parts for production.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.
