Position Summary: The Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in managing cost accounting functions, ensuring precise cost tracking, variance analysis, and compliance with accounting standards. This position requires collaboration with various teams to provide valuable insights into cost control strategies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive analysis of production costs and operational discrepancies.
  • Establish and uphold cost accounting policies and practices.
  • Work closely with the Cost Operations Director to develop cost management initiatives.
  • Generate and deliver detailed cost analysis reports to upper management.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct reconciliations of cost accounts and the general ledger.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in financial software applications and Excel.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting.
  • Experience within the cannabis or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
