Position Overview

The Senior Patient Authorization and Referral Representative is responsible for executing a range of patient-focused administrative duties to assist the Social Work team within the Care Management Department. This role operates under the guidance of the Social Work team to aid patients and their families in navigating their specific discharge plans and overall care strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct various administrative tasks that are patient-centered.
  • Support patients and families in their discharge planning and care processes.
  • Collaborate with the Social Work team to enhance patient experiences.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Training in medical terminology.
  • Proven experience working with patients and their families.
  • Background in healthcare settings, providing customer service and administrative support.
  • Experience interacting with insurance providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in healthcare-related fields.
  • Educational courses in healthcare disciplines.
  • Certification in MS Office upon hire.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
