About the Role

GAMA-1 Technologies is seeking a highly skilled IT Security Architect to support our government customers. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in advising on IT security requirements and best practices for system design solutions, developing migration and implementation plans, and assisting with security risk measurement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop System Designs: Create system designs compliant with architectural requirements and common controls following NIST guidelines.
  • Provide Enterprise Security Architecture Program and Policy Support: Offer expertise in security requirements for migrating on-premise IT systems into a FedRAMP Cloud environment.
  • Apply In-Depth Understanding of the NIST Risk Management Framework: Utilize your knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework to provide constructive comments and edits to various IT security documents.
  • Support IT Security Incident Response and Reporting: Work with technical teams and subject matter experts to collect and document system security control descriptions.
  • Perform a Variety of IT Security Tasks: Utilize various IT security tools used in NESDIS, such as IBM Bigfix, Tenable Security Center/Nessus, and Arcsight.
Essential Qualifications
  • Detail-Oriented: Possess excellent attention to detail and good analytical skills.
  • Strong Verbal Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Excellent Writing Skills: Produce high-quality technical documentation and possess excellent writing skills.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to deal with ambiguity and change.
  • Must-Have Certifications: Possess in-depth knowledge of NIST SP R4 and NIST SP, as well as certifications such as CISSP, ISSAP, CISM, CISA, GSLC, CCISO, CCSK, and CSP Architecture Certification.
Technical Skills
  • Experience with IT Security Architecture or IT Security Engineering: Possess experience with IT security architecture or IT security engineering.
  • Experience with RMF in the Cloud: Have experience implementing IT security improvements, both technical and developing complete documentation.
  • Experience with IT Security Tools: Utilize various IT security tools used in NESDIS, such as IBM Bigfix, Tenable Security Center/Nessus, and Arcsight.
  • Knowledge of Security Best Practices: Possess knowledge of security best practices such as defense in-depth, least privileges, access controls, and encryption.
