Boundary Zone, Inc. is seeking a skilled Land Surveying Specialist with expertise in Residential Boundary work in the Southwest Florida region. Please review the job responsibilities and qualifications outlined below before submitting your application.

All candidates must successfully complete a Drug Screening process.

Only applicants with proven Land Surveying and Residential Boundary expertise will be considered. Preference will be given to those who are eager to advance their careers in the field of professional land surveying. Candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance of the Ft. Myers or Tampa Metro areas.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. A company vehicle will be provided.

The Land Surveying Specialist will be tasked with, but not limited to:
  • Accurately executing field surveys.
  • Utilizing appropriate equipment for survey completion.
  • Performing construction staking and layout for new residential projects.
  • Effectively communicating vital information to clients and project managers.
  • Providing mentorship and training to survey field assistants.
  • Interpreting and understanding legal documents such as deeds and plats.
  • Ensuring proper maintenance and usage of equipment and vehicles.
  • Traveling efficiently to various job sites.
  • Staying current with industry practices and construction methodologies.
  • Maintaining a clean driving record and holding a valid driver's license.

Experience required: A minimum of 4 years in a crew chief role.

Essential skills and qualifications include:
  • Thorough understanding of surveying methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Basic computer skills related to data collection and CAD.
  • Familiarity with boundary and construction terminology.
  • Ability to interpret maps and plans.
  • Expertise in data collection techniques.
  • Proficient in surveying calculations.
  • Strong supervisory and communication abilities.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • A proactive approach to learning on the job.
  • Capability to work independently as well as in team settings.
  • Experience with Trimble surveying equipment is advantageous.
  • Possession of personal surveying gear and Total Station is a plus.
Preferred skills and qualifications include:
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Aspirations to become a Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT).
Candidates will be required to undergo a drug test and background check, provide professional and character references, and maintain a satisfactory driving record in compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience:
  • 4 years in Land Surveying preferred.
  • 4 years in AutoCAD preferred.
  • 4 years in Boundary, Topographic, and Tree Surveys preferred.
  • 4 years in Construction Staking preferred.
  • 4 years in Reading Deeds and Plats preferred.
  • 4 years in Microsoft Outlook preferred.
  • 4 years in COGO preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Surveyor License preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
