Position Overview: Land Acquisition Specialist

The Land Acquisition Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the Land Acquisition Department by assisting with the administration of the acquisition, entitlement, and development processes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the executive leadership team regarding land department activities.
  • Prepare, organize, and manage land contracts, ensuring all documentation is accurately filed and tracked.
  • Draft property disclosure documents as required.
  • Manage data and generate reports to facilitate strategic land planning.
  • Prepare and oversee due diligence and deal flow reports.
  • Deliver exceptional internal customer service.
  • Coordinate the setup of new vendors, including insurance and tax information.
  • Receive, distribute, and maintain both hard copy and electronic documents for ongoing projects and properties under review.
  • Update electronic budgets with contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Distribute vendor packages and verify compliance before forwarding to accounting for approval.
  • Collaborate with accounting to ensure vendors are approved and set up for ACH payments.
  • Input land department invoices into development budgets.
  • Enter existing and new contracts into project management software.
  • Organize and maintain all land department paperwork, including invoices and proposals.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office applications, including MS Project.
  • Adapt to new technologies related to Land Acquisition Processes.

Your Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in supporting land acquisition, land development, or homebuilding.
  • A valid driver's license with a good driving record and valid auto insurance coverage.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet analysis, project scheduling, and data management software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to take initiative and achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills to navigate complex situations.

Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and performing physical tasks such as bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, and carrying equipment weighing over 20 pounds. Adequate finger dexterity is required for operating a computer keyboard and calculator.
