Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. As a key member of our Aircraft Loads Section, you will be responsible for performing analysis and integration activities to support unclassified and classified programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide external aircraft loads analysis (flight, ground, fatigue, captive carriage, miscellaneous) to programs
  • Perform subsonic and supersonic aircraft loads analysis
  • Interact with internal customers to define system requirements, define study areas, and provide status on current programs and technology
  • Develop and present materials for internal program-related briefings
  • Support new business generation and prepare proposal material
  • Apply and contribute to the development of advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience; OR Master's degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience; OR PhD in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 0 years of related engineering experience
  • Proficiency with FEM models
  • Knowledge or proficiency with external aircraft loads analysis (flight, ground, fatigue, miscellaneous)
  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time
  • A current active DoD Secret or higher security clearance is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three plus (3+) years of experience in Aircraft Loads and Flight Sciences engineering disciplines
  • Experience in external aircraft loads analysis flight, ground, fatigue, and miscellaneous loads
  • Experience in Aircraft Loads processes and products throughout the program life cycle
  • Experience with NASTRAN, FEMAP, Zonair, Zaero, Matlab
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering Principles and Model-Based Systems Engineering tools (MBSE) with a practical focus for relevant use cases in propulsion integration
