Position Summary:

The intern will support the quality and process teams by conducting quality assessments on raw and coated materials across various production lines and downstream processes, including sealing and brake applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols to ensure safe operations for oneself and colleagues.
  • Learn and execute material testing, analyze results, and provide timely feedback.
  • Offer technical testing assistance to production and quality assurance teams.
  • Develop proficiency in a wide array of testing methodologies.
  • Prepare written reports and technical findings for project teams and management.
  • Conduct quality assessments on raw materials and coated products, documenting data accurately.
  • Assist in troubleshooting material-related challenges in production processes.
  • Support the verification of production trial runs through necessary testing.
  • Characterize materials, optimize processes, and gather reproducible data.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing issues related to product performance.
  • Contribute to the refinement of testing methodologies and protocols.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (preferably a Junior or Senior).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical documents.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information to management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, including data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently.
  • Familiarity with analytical instruments such as DSC, TGA, and FTIR is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Capacity to remain vigilant in a high-risk setting and adhere to detailed procedures.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
