POSITION OVERVIEW
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty role at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Chemical Engineering. This position emphasizes research in the areas of energy, materials, and catalysis, although other ranks and fields may also be considered. We are looking for candidates who are eager to engage in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment that values both fundamental and applied research.
DEPARTMENTAL CONTEXT
The Department currently comprises 17.5 full-time faculty members, including several award-winning early career professionals and endowed professorship holders. The department supports over 300 undergraduate and 60 graduate students, benefiting from state-of-the-art facilities located in a newly constructed building. Areas of specialization include biomedical engineering, catalysis and surface science, colloids and interfaces, membranes and advanced separations, polymer science and engineering, process design and systems engineering, and supercritical fluids. The department's annual research expenditures exceed $4.0 million.
