POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the accurate and courteous check-in and check-out of guests.
Shift Requirements: Weekdays and weekends, including morning, evening, and mid shifts based on occupancy levels.
Physical Demands:
- Standing/Walking: Constantly. At front desk on tile or carpet.
- Crouching: Frequently. When retrieving supplies from cabinets or picking items up from the floor.
- Stooping: Moderately. For accessing keys, supplies, and completing paperwork.
- Twisting: Constantly. When engaging with multiple guests and retrieving materials.
- Reaching: Constantly. For passing materials to guests over the front desk.
- Handling: Constantly. Involves handling telephones, documents, and other supplies.
- Pushing/Pulling: Average weight frequently 5 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 20 lbs.
- Lifting/Carrying: Average frequently 5 lbs. Maximum weight occasionally 20 lbs.
- Interior of hotel, in a climate-controlled office environment.
- Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- 1 year of experience in a hotel setting as a front desk agent preferred.
- 2 years of previous customer service experience.
- Strong English communication and organizational skills.
- Availability to work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Check guests in and out in a friendly manner.
- Become proficient in Hotel Operating System and phone system.
- Comprehensive knowledge of front desk procedures, hotel services, and local information.
- Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Assist guests with inquiries and provide information.
- Accurately handle cash transactions and maintain hotel records.
- Maintain good customer relations by being aware of in-house and area functions.
- Operate PBX equipment for incoming and outgoing calls.
- Control cash transactions at the front desk.
- Update information in the computer system as needed.
- Complete all opening and closing duties as per checklist.
- Act as Manager on Duty when necessary.
- Communicate with other departments to fulfill guests' needs.
- Effectively handle workplace problems as they arise.
- Attend required meetings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Exhibit courtesy towards customers and colleagues.
- Report unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety and security policies.
- Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition.
- Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Hotel Operations or Customer Service preferred.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work productively in a team.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Composure under pressure.
- Proficient in multiple computer programs.
