About Rocky Mountain Prep

Rocky Mountain Prep is an expanding network of forward-thinking public charter schools, dedicated to serving students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in the Greater Denver Area. Since its inception in 2012 with just 130 students, Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) has grown to encompass four schools, impacting over 1,800 scholars across two districts. Role Mission

High School Early Literacy Interventionists are expected to assist students in grades 9-12 who need additional support to fulfill their academic, social, and emotional requirements and attain grade-level proficiency. The primary focus will be on literacy intervention for scholars reading below a 6th-grade level.

In this role, you will:
  • Conduct daily literacy interventions in both individual and small group settings, tailoring instruction to meet the needs of each scholar.
  • Monitor student progress, document advancements, and input data into a centralized management system.
  • Analyze student data to establish individual goals, form intervention groups, and create instructional plans, adjusting teaching methods as necessary.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, service providers, school leaders, students, and families to address the academic, social, and emotional needs of each learner.
  • Facilitate Student Care Plan meetings for students requiring additional support.
  • Be prepared to work with students outside of regular school hours if necessary, with total work hours adjusted accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

Education Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time K-12 lead teaching experience involving literacy instruction (e.g., homeroom teacher, literacy teacher, interventionist, or special education teacher).
  • During the application process, candidates must provide student data demonstrating that they have facilitated 1.5 years of reading growth in a single academic year and/or achieved high levels of mastery on state assessments.
  • Possess an official transcript indicating graduation from an accredited undergraduate institution.
  • Hold a Colorado teaching license or an out-of-state teaching license eligible for transfer to Colorado.
  • Pass a background check and demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred:
  • Experience implementing a literacy intervention program with fidelity (e.g., Wilson Reading System).
  • Specialized training in research-based literacy intervention (e.g., Orton-Gillingham).
  • Experience with tiered instruction as a dedicated literacy interventionist in an elementary setting.
  • Reading specialist endorsement, Special Education endorsement, and/or CLDE endorsement on an active Colorado teaching license.
  • Completion of CDE READ Act training and/or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) 45 contact hours.
  • Experience working with linguistically and culturally diverse students and families.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English & Spanish or English & Arabic.

Salary

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with a salary range of $60,000 - $89,000. Years of experience will be counted as full years spent in lead teaching roles within American public K-12 schools and public Pre-K programs.
