Position Overview:
Northmarq is on the lookout for a Commercial Real Estate Production Analyst I to become part of our dynamic team. This role involves managing the expectations of clients, Production Managers, underwriters, and closers throughout the loan lifecycle. The selected candidate will support Production Managers in generating new business and overseeing that business throughout the loan process, both internally and externally. This position demands exceptional multitasking abilities, the capacity to perform under pressure, and the skill to meet strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Loan Structuring:
    • Facilitate pre-screening for fixed and floating-rate loan opportunities.
    • Engage with Northmarq Producers and analysts to identify additional data necessary for completing preliminary analyses.
    • Collaborate with Production Managers, Northmarq producers, analysts, and clients to discuss ongoing transactions and identify competitive financing solutions.
    • Work with the credit group and Production Managers to assess and pinpoint quality multifamily transactions, generate term sheets, issue loan applications, and manage client expectations.
    • Monitor, report, and distribute pricing indications from FNMA's pricing and trading desks.
    • Update pricing in screening workbooks to ascertain proceeds at the time of loan quotes or applications and relay pricing indications to Northmarq Producers and analysts.
    • Highlight deal points with the credit group to draft and issue loan commitments.
    • Manage responsiveness to due diligence requests throughout pre-screening, screening, underwriting, and closing phases.
  • Process Management and Client Advocacy:
    • Prepare and deliver submission packages to initiate the screening process for each transaction.
    • Communicate with FNM production, credit, and pricing during the loan screening and quoting phases.
    • Proactively obtain status updates on all deals in the prospective pipeline.
    • Deliver application checks to closing and coordinate internal and external kick-off calls.
    • Instruct Northmarq Producers and analysts to order title and survey upon receipt of executed applications.
    • Organize and scan executed loan applications, commitments, trade authorizations, and deal correspondence into respective loan files.
    • Assist Production Managers in educating borrowers, Northmarq Producers, and analysts on the loan process from screening to closing.
    • Coordinate with closing to return application deposits and third-party reports when a deal does not proceed in underwriting.
    • Collaborate with Production Managers, underwriting, and closing to update and distribute the weekly pipeline report in PDF format.
    • Support Production Managers in developing and implementing systematic approaches to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Email pipeline reports to FNMA for our regular weekly call.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business (finance, real estate, or accounting).
  • Up to two years of experience, ideally in commercial real estate analysis and finance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and assignments; adept at prioritizing and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Problem-solving skills commensurate with the level of responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all situations.
