Position Overview:
Northmarq is looking for a Commercial Real Estate Production Analyst I to become part of our dynamic team. This role is essential in managing the expectations of clients, Production Managers, underwriters, and closers throughout the loan lifecycle. The selected candidate will support Production Managers in generating new business and overseeing that business through the loan process, both internally and externally. This position demands the ability to juggle multiple tasks, respond effectively under pressure, and adhere to strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Structuring:
  • Conduct pre-screening for fixed and floating-rate loan opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Northmarq Producers and analysts to identify additional data necessary for completing preliminary analyses.
  • Engage with Production Managers, Northmarq producers, analysts, and clients to discuss ongoing transactions and identify competitive financing options.
  • Work with the credit team and Production Managers to assess and identify quality multifamily transactions, generate term sheets, issue loan applications, and manage client expectations.
  • Monitor, report, and disseminate pricing indications from FNMA's pricing and trading desks.
  • Update pricing in screening workbooks to ascertain proceeds at the time of loan quote or application and provide pricing indications to Northmarq Producers and analysts.
  • Highlight deal points with the credit group to draft and issue loan commitments.
  • Manage responsiveness to due diligence requests throughout pre-screening, screening, underwriting, and closing phases.
Process Management and Client Advocacy:
  • Prepare and present submission packages to initiate the screening process for each transaction.
  • Communicate with FNM production, credit, and pricing teams during the loan screening and quoting phases.
  • Proactively gather status updates on all deals in the prospective pipeline.
  • Deliver application checks to closing and coordinate internal and external kick-off meetings.
  • Guide Northmarq Producers and analysts to order title and survey upon receipt of an executed application.
  • Organize and archive executed loan applications, commitments, trade authorizations, and correspondence into relevant loan files.
  • Assist Production Managers in educating borrowers, Northmarq Producers, and analysts on the loan process from screening to closing.
  • Coordinate with closing teams to return application deposits and third-party reports when a deal does not proceed in underwriting.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers, underwriting, and closing teams to update and distribute the weekly pipeline report in PDF format.
  • Support Production Managers in developing and implementing systematic approaches to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Email pipeline reports to FNMA for our standing weekly call.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business (finance, real estate, or accounting).
  • Up to two years of experience, ideally in commercial real estate analysis and finance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and modeling capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  • Problem-solving skills appropriate to the level of responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all situations.
