About the Role

The Golden Apple Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Manager of Scholar Institute. This role is a critical component of our organization's mission to inspire, develop, and support teacher and school leader excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Design and Management
    • Develop and implement comprehensive plans for Scholar Institute events, ensuring seamless execution and effective communication with stakeholders.
    • Manage the placement and attendance of Scholars, maintaining accurate records and data.
    • Collect and assess data on scholar performance, identifying areas for growth and improvement.
    • Debrief individual scholar performance with the Manager of Undergraduate Supports, facilitating transition plans and growth areas.
    • Train Scholars on engaging with schools and districts as pre-service teachers, emphasizing effective communication and collaboration.
    • Travel to Scholar Institutes to support staff and Scholars, ensuring a high-quality experience.
    • Engage district leaders to assess their offerings and needs, establishing and maintaining Summer Teaching Experience opportunities.
    • Work with K-12 partners, Scholars, and Golden Apple team members to assign teaching placements for Summer Teaching Experiences.
    • Assist in developing and refining Scholar Institute curriculum, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
    • Deliver professional development to Scholars and Scholar Institute Staff, promoting effective teaching practices.
    • Assist in managing Scholar Institute instructors, providing feedback and support.
  • Logistics and Operations
    • Regulate the ordering and distribution of supplies for Scholar Institute Staff, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
    • Collaborate on instructional schedules for Scholar Institute, ensuring a smooth and organized experience.
    • Facilitate event management by inputting Scholar Institute schedules within an online platform.
    • Coordinate logistics surrounding Scholar Institutes with universities and transportation, ensuring seamless execution.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field, with specialization or experience in curriculum development.
  • Classroom teaching experience, with a strong understanding of effective teaching practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity of information, ensuring the trust and respect of stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage in strategic planning and process improvement, driving organizational growth and excellence.
  • Possesses strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and precision.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, with a drive for results and a proven ability to stay focused on goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with external partners.
