Are you prepared to embrace a pivotal leadership position at the WMU Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine? We are in search of a dedicated and seasoned Nurse Manager to enhance our operations in Southwest Michigan. Our mission centers on promoting health equity through outstanding patient care, advanced medical education, and impactful research initiatives.

As a Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing specialty care clinics, which encompass OB/GYN/MFM, pediatric subspecialties, surgical services, and infectious diseases. Your role will include managing team leads, ensuring operational efficiency, implementing process enhancements, and nurturing an inclusive workplace culture. We seek a dynamic leader who can infuse positivity and expertise into our clinics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer and oversee clinical services within specialty care.
  • Review and submit Clinical Competencies for clinical staff.
  • Organize daily and monthly scheduling.
  • Onboard new clinical personnel and provide continuous training.
  • Maintain updated job descriptions for all staff members.
  • Ensure adherence to licensing and certification standards.
  • Conduct performance assessments for clinical support personnel.
  • Manage inventory of clinical supplies.
  • Engage in patient care collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Supervise staffing levels and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership for survey readiness.
  • Address patient care requirements and concerns.
  • Maintain compliance and occurrence documentation.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety efforts.
  • Develop clinical policies and procedural guidelines.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and methodologies.
  • Participate in initiatives for process enhancement.
  • Monitor staff productivity and assist in staffing metrics and budgeting.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform additional assigned responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a Clinical Specialty ambulatory environment.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a supervisory role.
