POSITION OVERVIEW

The D.C. United Community Engagement Representative plays a vital role in representing the organization through various grassroots initiatives. As a key member of our Black-and-Red community, this role involves actively engaging with fans to create unforgettable experiences during home games and community events. Responsibilities include participation in D.C. United home matches, special community events, viewing parties, partner collaborations, and local festivals. The Community Engagement Representative aims to enhance the fan experience and expand the Black-and-Red family through positive interactions and grassroots marketing strategies. This is a part-time position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in both on-site and off-site events, including game nights and special gatherings to promote D.C. United.
  • Engage with attendees in a friendly, approachable, and professional manner. This may involve distributing promotional items, answering inquiries about D.C. United, and ensuring a memorable experience for all guests.
  • Exhibit a strong knowledge and enthusiasm for D.C. United.
  • Contribute ideas for current and future marketing initiatives, and assist in the planning and execution of these activations.
  • Responsible for engaging with fans and collecting data during events.
  • Support additional tasks as assigned by the Marketing Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is required prior to employment.
SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Ideal candidates should reside locally and be available to start work in early 2023. This position is expected to last up to one year, with the possibility of extension.
  • Availability to work all home games during the D.C. United season is essential.
  • Organized, capable of multitasking, and adept at problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with a collaborative spirit and enjoyment of teamwork.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are crucial.
  • Dependable, proactive, and adaptable to various situations.
  • Preferred candidates may have backgrounds in Sports Management, Marketing, or Communications.
  • A genuine passion for D.C. United or a willingness to learn about the organization is essential.
