Position: Benefits Advisor

Licensing Requirements: Must hold a valid Insurance Agent license in Iowa and/or Illinois.

Role Overview:

As a Benefits Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with union consultants to evaluate their group benefit requirements, assess existing offerings, and pinpoint opportunities for new plans or products. You will provide education to clients regarding plan design, funding models, potential rate structures, and comprehensive coverage details.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish annual objectives, actively seeking new business while managing renewal accounts throughout the year.
  • Work in tandem with carrier partners and the account management team to service both new and renewal business.
  • Engage in various health and welfare plans, with a focus on benefits consulting and administration within the Union/Taft-Hartley sector.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of all funds and benefit plans, emphasizing pension, annuity, and retirement funds.
  • Regularly interact with multiple union groups, their leaders, and members, providing essential plan information and addressing inquiries related to benefits, coverage, claims, etc.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of group claims experience, focusing on reporting and insights.

Work Environment: This position is fully on-site.
