Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing new patients, creating care plans, and establishing measurable, functional objectives.
  • Providing treatment to patients, addressing their inquiries, and educating patients and their families about their conditions, progress towards goals, and expected outcomes.
  • Tracking patient responses to treatment and making necessary adjustments to meet patient needs and achieve goals in line with treatment plans and physician directives.
  • Demonstrating behaviors and practices that promote effective professional and therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Collaborating with all staff, management, and physicians to safely achieve objectives and maintain positive employee, interdepartmental, and public relations.
  • Consulting with the treating physician and fostering effective relationships with referral providers.
  • Overseeing and guiding treatments provided by aides, assistants, and/or technicians.
  • Documenting patient evaluations, re-evaluations, daily progress notes, treatments, and discharge summaries promptly; accurately recording billable services.
  • Ensuring adherence to all organizational policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Delivering physical therapy services to patients in accordance with professional practice guidelines and organizational clinical policies and standards.
  • Staying current with all licensing, credentialing, and educational requirements as mandated by state and federal regulations.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to identify and implement components of physical therapy processes and deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively engage and interact with patients, families, and staff.
  • Familiarity with personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Records.
  • Additional qualifications/skills as specified in the complete job description.
Education:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the relevant state.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy is preferred; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
