Position Overview

The Laboratory for Interface Science of Printable Electronic Materials is seeking a Research Scientist II to investigate printable semiconductor materials for applications in energy conversion, storage, and biomaterials. Research will focus on materials such as metal halide perovskites, organic semiconductors, and colloidal quantum dots, emphasizing the interplay of chemistry, electronic structure, and microstructure at the nanoscale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement spectroscopic and electrochemical protocols for material characterization.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of students and researchers.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, including imaging and spectroscopy equipment.
  • Mentor graduate students in research methodologies.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare research publications and technical presentations.
Qualifications

Required:

  • A Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field with three years of relevant experience, or
  • A Master's degree in the aforementioned fields with five years of experience post-Bachelor's degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.

Preferred:

  • Experience in materials electrochemistry and processing.
  • Familiarity with structural characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction and spectroelectrochemistry.
  • Knowledge of metal halide perovskite electrochemistry.
  • Ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary research environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and self-motivation.
